The company Konstruktor-Split, according to Šuker, derives the greatest pleasure from the signing of the Agreement today because it has broken the ice and it is the first Croatian company involved in a big construction project in Qatar.
This company, he added, will probably be a forerunner of the Croatian construction operational body which has proved its experience and quality in the construction of motorways in Croatia.
This Agreement is one of the basic documents for the development of economic relationships between Croatia and Qatar, which are currently minimal, estimated Al-Moftah. He also added that he hoped that this Agreement would encourage Croatian companies to participate in big projects planned in this country, as well as the investors from both countries to invest.
For the last five years, Qatar registers GDP growth of at least 10 percent per year, and high rates are also expected in the next five to ten years. Such an economic development requires investments in construction projects, roads, motorways and the like, that is, in the fields in which the Croatian companies have already proven themselves, said Al-Moftah.
On the other side, he added, the Croatian tourism and hotel sector could be interesting for Qatar investors.
The Agreement signed today ensures tax relieves considering the taxation of the two signatory countries residents' income and revenues and it also prescribes the methods for avoiding double taxation of the same income, that is, of the same profit and thus, among other things, the same status and benefits are ensured for companies of both countries as are those for domestic companies.
Today, Croatia signed 47 agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and by the end of this week, the signing of the Agreement with Morocco has also been announced. (Hina - Croatian News Agency)
