Within the Directorate for Macroeconomic Analyses, Economy, Financial System, European Union and International Financial Relations, the following tasks are carried out: creation of annual and multi-annual projections and forecasts of macroeconomic and budget aggregates; monitoring and analyzing macroeconomic movements at the level of the Republic of Croatia as well as at a global level, particularly analyzing and planning fiscal policy referring to the State Budget, extra-budgetary users and local and regional self-governments; coordination of economic policies within the framework of cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions, and participation in the activities of cooperation between the State and international institutions; participation in tasks regarding the performance of the Republic of Croatia in international financial market and before credit rating agencies assessing the credit rating of the Republic of Croatia; drawing up fiscal reports according to international statistics standards, participation in the creation and development of general government national accounts; preparation of the statistical reports of the Ministry; tasks of coordination and management of EU own resources; keeping the Concessions Register and monitoring the concession system; analyzing the dynamics of the collection of concessions and revenues from concession fees, and undertaking measures of more efficient collection of fees by concessions; analyzing and implementing public-private partnership projects; improving the system of collecting non-tax revenues; analyzing financial status of state-owned companies; tasks referring to the restructuring and consolidation of business entities; monitoring and analyzing the state aid (subsidies) policy; participation in the production of legal regulations in the field of concessions and state subsidies; analyzing the conditions regarding the property damages and rights derived from natural disasters; drafting and participation in drafting acts and implementing regulations on banking system, payment system, insurance system, compulsory insurance and reinsurance, financial markets, including capital markets, investment and alternative funds, financial conglomerates, regulations regarding the take-over of joint-stock companies, financial services, including leasing, regulations regarding the deposit insurance and depositor (investor) insurance, regulations on financial reporting system, accounting and auditing, regulations establishing the business operations of the Croatian National Bank, Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency, Financial Agency, State Agency for Deposit Insurance and Bank Rehabilitation, Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and regulations establishing financial instruments, including bill of exchange and cheque forms; tasks regarding the disbursement of state incentives to housing savings and voluntary pensions savings; tasks regarding the coordination of consumer protection within the financial system; supervision of the Financial Agency regarding the performance of the seizure of financial means; supervision of savings-and-loan associations in liquidation; supervision of the disbursement of state incentives to housing savings and voluntary pension savings; participation in the preparation and implementation of the activities of the Ministry regarding the European integration tasks and cooperation with international financial institutions; coordination of the preparation of draft opinions and other documents on certain policies of the European Union; coordination of the preparation and implementation of EU programmes; developing and carrying out the cooperation with international financial institutions on the basis of the policy of the Government of the Republic of Croatia with an aim to realize the sustainable development; fulfilling financial obligations deriving from the membership of the Republic of Croatia in international financial institutions, pursuant to the concluded contracts on loans, state guarantees and grants; preparation of draft legal and other regulations establishing financial relations with international financial institutions; giving opinions on the draft acts and other draft regulations in the field of financial relations with foreign countries and institutions; other tasks falling within its scope.
